Colorado Senate Passes In-State Tuition For Undocumented Immigrant Students Bill
On February 25, 2013 the Colorado Senate voted 23-12 to allow Colorado residents to receive in-state tuition rates regardless of their immigration status.
Specific requirements of the bill include:
- Students must graduate from a Colorado high school;
- Students must have resided in Colorado for at least 3 consecutive years;
- Students must sign an affidavit stating they are seeking citizenship.
The bill now heads to the Democratic House.
